On Wednesday 2nd June an 80 strong team of volunteers from Bunnings stores across the state donated their time for a massive community project to upgrade the Animal Welfare League Wingfield Shelter.
Over the past 9 months – new kennels have been built at the rear of the existing AWL Kennels.
The area surrounding the kenn...els was in need of a makeover, so Bunnings have stepped up to the plate and created a stunning garden and lawn area, which will be used as an exercise yard for the dog walkers!
These photos show the team landscaping around the fence line including screening plants, landscaping the sandy areas/garden beds at the end of the new rows, and painting the verandah/main walkway in shelters!
The extensive upgrade includes donations from:
• Paint donated by Nippon paint
• Painting equipment from Rokset
• Plants from Hynes Nursery
• Irrigation for the garden beds from Toro
• Gardening equipment from Cyclone
• Brooms and clean up equipment from Oates
The AWL would sincerely like to thank the brilliant BUNNINGS team for their time, effort and energy in pulling this makeover together!
